Today I came across something totally awesome while shopping:
But I did not buy it, it was just lying around. Turns out, it's a wandering book: people or organizations just place books somewhere in the hopes that someone will pick them up, read them, and leave them somewhere public for the next person to read.
The books are being tracked by book crossing http://www.bookcrossing.com, where you can also see where else the book has been.
The concept of this, I think, is cheer brilliance.
Now I wonder where I should leave mine when I'm done with it?

I found one of these on the bus once. I didn't read it, though, it wasn't my kind of book. Was kind of cool, anyway, I like the concept. |

I found a link to this site after reading an update on one of the other online comics that I follow, and I have to say, it is awesome. Hope you will post more updates soon, I'll be looking forward to it. (Sorry this has nothing to do with the blog post thing, but it was the most current one, so I figured it was the best choice) |

Book crossing
Yeah I've had that.
At first I saw this book laying in the train. I took it up and started reading it, planning to leave it at the lost and found department. But just when I decided to read it first and then simply leave it behind again, I browsed through it and found 5 pages full of people's reactions. People had been leaving it in the train for years. And it was still around!
Then just a month ago, there was this guy reading a book, and it seemed interesting so I tried and look at the title, so I could write it down. We had some small talk and I said I was going to write down the title. But then he said he had nearly finished it, and I could have it in a few minutes. This book, I have decided, will become another leave behind or give away book. |
